Job summary

Amazon UK ProServe is seeking a Change & Release Manager to govern and lead complex cloud solution projects, including HMRC transitions. You will stand up change and release management, govern across the HMRC DCE estate, and act as the primary AWS interface into CAB processes, ensuring risk‑adjusted, auditable releases to production.

The role requires ITIL expertise, cloud experience, and strong stakeholder management within a government-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Experience governing change and release in large IT transformation, data centre migration, or cloud adoption programmes.
• Strong working knowledge of ITIL service management frameworks, particularly Change Enablement, Release Management, and Deployment Management.
• Experience governing change and release processes in an AWS or public cloud environment, with understanding of cloud-native deployment patterns and tooling.
• Proven ability to chair Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and manage complex change schedules across multiple teams and suppliers.
• Experience operating within UK public sector or government programmes (preferred).
• Strong risk assessment skills and ability to apply governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the Change and Release Management processes, ensuring alignment with objectives and best practice.
• Govern the end-to-end lifecycle of technology changes and releases, including assessment, planning, approval, deployment, validation, and closure.
• Classify changes (Standard, Normal, Emergency) and ensure proper approval gates.
• Govern ITSM processes using ITIL 4, focusing on release deployment and change evaluation.
• Manage early life support and ensure services are ready for live operation.
• Document, test, approve, and communicate changes with rollback and readiness plans.
• Ensure stage gates (Dev → Test → Pre-Prod → Prod) with evidence and sign-off at each transition.
• Coordinate with HMRC’s SIAM layer for multi-supplier alignment.
• Chair CAB meetings and maintain Forward Schedule of Change and Release Schedule.
