Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) ProServe UKGI seeks a Service Transition Lead to ensure controlled handover of HMRC DCE workloads into the Run & Operate model. You will own transition end-to-end, define acceptance criteria, chair review boards, and ensure documentation and CMDB updates are complete.

Requirements include ITIL expertise, AWS experience, UK government program exposure, and strong governance skills. UK national security clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in stakeholder management across multiple levels.
• Service Transition Lead or similar in large IT transformation programs.
• Strong ITIL service management knowledge (Transition, Operation, CSI).
• Experience in AWS/public cloud environments and cloud-native ops.
• Experience in UK public sector or government programs.
• Strong documentation and governance skills for handover artefacts.
• Excellent communication and facilitation to lead review boards.
• Experience with service acceptance testing and readiness assessments.
• Familiarity with Agile and PRINCE2 methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end service transition for workloads migrating to AWS Run & Operate.
• Develop and maintain the Service Transition Plan aligned with milestones.
• Define and manage service acceptance criteria with R&O readiness.
• Chair AWS Service Transition Review Boards for handover approvals.
• Produce operational documentation: Runbooks, SOPs, architecture docs.
• Maintain monitoring, incident, change, and DR/BCP configurations.
• Identify risks and issues; drive resolution with delivery teams.
• Coordinate Early Life Support periods with entry/exit criteria.
• Ensure knowledge transfer to R&O team with evidence.
• Maintain service catalogue and CMDB entries for transitioned services.
• Provide regular transition status reporting and dashboards.
• Interface with HMRC stakeholders for customer acceptance and alignment.
