Job summary

CAE is seeking a Training Manager at its London Gatwick Training Centre in Crawley to supervise and deliver flight training across the simulator fleet and region. You will lead training operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and contribute to training delivery while retaining direct simulator instructor duties.

You will work with the Head of Training, instructors, scheduling, regulatory, and sales teams to ensure training excellence, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Hold or have held a professional pilot licence (CPL, ATPL, or equivalent). EASA and/or UK CAA ATPL desirable but not mandatory.
• Hold or have held a Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI), Type Rating Instructor (TRI) or equivalent instructor qualification.
• Extensive aviation training and flight training experience.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations, training governance and ATO processes.
• Experience supporting instructor oversight, training delivery or training management.
• Experience maintaining training records and regulatory compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to travel within the training region.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Oversee training programmes to support delivery, satisfaction, utilisation, and business objectives.
• Deliver simulator instruction per approved programmes and CAE procedures.
• Maintain training records and regulatory documentation accurately.
• Support training scheduling to ensure instructor allocation and coverage.
• Ensure adherence to processes, manuals and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with technical teams to support device serviceability.
• Support customer and sales activities as needed.
• Manage instructors, qualifications, authorisations, currency.
• Conduct observations and competency reviews to support development.
• Lead standardisation initiatives and training updates.
• Contribute to workforce planning and staffing recommendations.
• Prepare training courses and ensure materials are ready before start.
• Develop and maintain curricula and training materials.
• Monitor trainee progress and address performance concerns.
• Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and CAE procedures.
• Perform other duties to ensure safe, compliant delivery.
