Job summary

CAE is seeking a Training Manager for our London Gatwick Training Centre in Crawley. You will supervise flight training across the simulator fleet, delivering instruction while maintaining regulatory compliance and quality standards.

You will lead instructor teams, coordinate scheduling, and ensure accurate training records. The role blends management responsibilities with hands-on simulator instruction and requires travel within the training region. Fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional pilot licence (CPL/ATPL) or equivalent.
• EASA and/or UK CAA ATPL desirable but not mandatory.
• Valid Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI), Type Rating Instructor (TRI), or equivalent instructor qualification.
• Extensive aviation training and flight training experience.
• Working knowledge of aviation regulations and Approved Training Organisation (ATO) processes.
• Experience supporting instructor oversight, training delivery, or operational training management.
• Experience maintaining training records and regulatory compliance.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel within the region.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluent English in written and spoken form.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned training programmes to support effective training delivery, customer satisfaction, instructor utilisation, and business objectives.
• Deliver simulator instruction in accordance with approved training programmes, customer requirements, regulatory standards, and CAE procedures.
• Ensure training records and regulatory documentation are completed accurately and in accordance with requirements.
• Support training scheduling to ensure appropriate instructor allocation and coverage for customer training.
• Ensure adherence to approved processes, procedures, manuals, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a point of contact with technical personnel to support training device serviceability and suitability for curricula.
• Support customer and sales activities as delegated by the Deputy Head of Training.
• Manage instructors under delegated authority, including qualifications, authorisations, and currency.
• Conduct observations, assessments, and competency reviews to support instructor development.
• Support instructor standardisation initiatives and conduct meetings and updates.
• Contribute to workforce planning and staffing recommendations.
• Prepare training courses ensuring materials and documentation are ready before programme start.
• Contribute to curricula development and training materials upkeep.
• Monitor trainee progress, identify performance concerns, and escalate as needed.
• Support compliance with Approved Training Organisation requirements.
• Perform other duties to ensure safe, compliant, and effective training delivery.
