Job summary

Mitie Group plc is seeking an Aviation Security Officer for our Broughton site to manage access control and ensure only authorised personnel and vehicles enter the Security Restricted Area. You will handle entry posts, patrols, and incident reporting while upholding a professional Mitie image.

Responsibilities include liaising with Police and other emergency services, promoting customer care, and supporting stakeholders with enquiries.

Qualifications

• Current UK Driving Licence (no endorsements).
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history and ability to obtain SC clearance.
• Ability to implement Airport Byelaws and to deal with offenders.
• Willing to undergo a colour deficiency test at interview to interpret X-Ray colours.
• Productively take instruction and carry out tasks thoroughly and accurately.
• Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage all entry and exit posts by checking ID cards and required documentation.
• Control Airside vehicular access and prevent unauthorised vehicles.
• Undertake patrols, escort and ensure safety of all persons, vehicles and high‑value cargoes.
• Liaise via radio/telephone with Police, Immigration and other emergency services as necessary.
• Report aviation security incidents and submit clear reports.
• Promote a high standard of Customer Care and assist stakeholders with general enquiries.
