Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Technical Solutions Engineer to support the design, delivery and ongoing performance of aviation ground-network and communication solutions in Crawley. This hybrid role blends pre-sales technical support, solution development and project delivery.

You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges, strengthen service reliability and identify opportunities to enhance our solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline with at least five years of relevant experience; or advanced degree with at least three years of relevant experience; or nine years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, telecommunications circuits and IP-based systems.
• Experience in technical troubleshooting, systems support or operational engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with customers.
• Ability to analyse data, identify anomalies and communicate evidence-based conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical expertise for requests for proposal, pricing exercises and customer solution design.
• Develop practical technical solutions addressing customer requirements and supporting project delivery.
• Investigate service faults, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyse performance data and translate findings into clear technical conclusions.
• Coordinate on-site implementations and provide customer support when required.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and optimise existing solutions.
