Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite Design Engineer – Aircraft Cabin Products in Havant, UK. You will develop bespoke designs meeting customer specs, produce CAD models in SolidWorks, and manage drawings and BOMs through PDM.

The role requires a engineering degree and at least two years of design experience, with knowledge of aerospace standards and production methods. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and may travel offsite occasionally.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC or HND in a relevant engineering subject with at least two years of design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar CAD package.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods, design review processes and configuration management.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and collaborate across the business.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do
  • Develop bespoke product designs that meet customer specifications, quality expectations and delivery timescales.

What you’ll bring
  • A degree, HNC or HND in a relevant engineering subject, with at least two years of relevant design experience in an engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar CAD package.
  • An understanding of manufacturing and finishing methods, design review processes and configuration management.
  • The ability to make progress when requirements are incomplete, find the information you need and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Careful attention to detail, confidence working independently and the ability to collaborate with people across the business.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, marine or a similar industry is valuable.
  • Familiarity with aircraft qualification standards such as D6-36440, RTCA/DO-160 or ABD0100.1.2 would be an advantage.
