Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our operation at British Airways Engineering Wales (BAEW), Cardiff Airport. This permanent, full-time role involves delivering preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to a range of mechanical systems within a critical aviation environment.

You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain HVAC, pumping, compressed air, water and fire protection systems, while supporting mechanical handling equipment and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must have maintenance/facilities management or building services experience.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Strong IT literacy and familiarity with CAFM/systems is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical systems and site equipment.
• Diagnose faults and maintain HVAC, pumping, compressed air, water and fire protection systems.
• Support maintenance of mechanical handling equipment, industrial doors and related infrastructure.
• Accurately complete maintenance records, work orders and compliance documentation.
• Contribute to projects and improvements while upholding health and safety standards.
