Job summary

Swissport is seeking a Dispatch Agent (Operations) at Gatwick Airport to coordinate cargo movements and ensure timely, accurate dispatch of shipments. You will prepare flight paperwork, communicate data to flight crews, and liaise with ground crews and authorities to meet safety requirements.

The role requires flexibility for shift work and a valid UK driver's license to operate airside vehicles. Swissport offers training, parking, and career progression within aviation operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft ground operations or ramp handling is advantageous.
• Knowledge of weight and balance calculations and aviation safety regulations.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid FULL UK MANUAL driver's licence and ability to operate vehicles airside.

Responsibilities

• Prepare paperwork for flight crews, including flight plans, load sheets and fuel data.
• Communicate fuel and load data to flight crew and load control accurately.
• Liaise with ground crew, flight operations and airport authorities to ensure proper loading.
• Prioritise tasks and manage aircraft turnaround from arrival to departure.
• Operate aerobridges and aircraft stand guidance systems safely for boarding and disembarkation.
• Drive vehicles airside (cars, vans, minibuses) in line with regulations.
• Perform aircraft weight and balance calculations as required, ensuring safety compliance.
