Job summary

Swissport Cargo at Gatwick Airport is seeking a Warehouse Agent to organize storage facilities, load/unload air cargo, and ensure safety, SOP compliance, and quality standards while maintaining paperwork accuracy.

You will progress from Agent 1 with a starting salary to Agent 2 after milestones, may work flexible shifts, and operate equipment as required, while upholding security and airline procedures.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to travel to the airport when public transport isn’t available.
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply a flexible approach.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather.
• Able to lift up to 32 kg repeatedly in a manual environment.
• Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• A full driving licence preferred.
• Experience in aviation environments desirable.

Job description

As a Swissport Cargo Warehouse Agent based at Gatwick International Airport you will organize warehouse and storage facilities and arrange warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.

The pay structure for the role is as follows:

• Starting salary (Agent 1): £28,333.50 per annum (£14.53 per hour)
• After successful completion of the 6-month probation: £28,821.00 per annum (£14.78 per hour)
• After 1 year of service: £30,030.00 per annum (£15.40 per hour) as Agent 2

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas
• Preparing and palletize cargo as needed
• Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct
• Assuring proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
• Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
• Delivering air cargo to appropriate recipient if required
• Providing special handling of live animals as required
• Driving and/or operate specialist equipment which may include vans, fork lift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers.
• Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
• Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
• Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
• Other duties as assigned
