Job summary

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance is seeking a Performance and Development Officer to oversee the apprenticeship program, monitor staff performance, and drive continuous professional development. The role requires a proactive individual with a track record in performance management within aviation/technical services.

The ideal candidate will coordinate training modules, assess apprentice progress, and liaise with educational partners to ensure regulatory compliance and educational quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in People Development, Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within aviation or technical services.
• Experience with performance appraisal systems and delivering employee feedback.
• Strong understanding of performance management and employee development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and generate actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the apprenticeship program to align with industry standards and company objectives.
• Develop and implement training modules and evaluation criteria for apprentices.
• Monitor apprentice progress and logbook progression; provide guidance and support.
• Liaise with educational institutions and external partners to meet regulatory and educational requirements.
• Monitor and assess staff performance; implement appraisal systems and feedback mechanisms.
• Facilitate regular performance reviews between management and staff to set objectives.
