Job summary

Prestwick Aircraft Engineering invites applications for a Project Engineer to lead improvement-led projects across the business, focusing on Lean operations, efficiency and continuous improvement in a maintenance environment.

Working with the Base Maintenance Manager, you will coordinate multiple projects, track schedules and costs, deliver detailed status updates, use Lean tools to identify bottlenecks, and drive waste reduction through structured problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or strong technical background with problem solving.
• Experience interpreting performance data and applying improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication with engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen and process mapping.

Responsibilities

• See projects from concept through to full implementation with Lean alignment.
• Prepare status reports, KPI data and performance metrics with recommendations.
• Determine schedules by studying plans, sequencing elements and bottlenecks.
• Chair project meetings, drive structured problem-solving and action tracking.
• Develop and standardise processes using Lean techniques such as standard work.
• Drive continuous improvement by reducing waste and improving resource use.
• Motivate teams to deliver tasks on time and ensure accountability.
