Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a Production Controller for a well-established machine shop in the United Kingdom. You will be the central point of contact for customer orders, keeping schedules on track from receipt through to delivery, and providing regular updates.

The role emphasizes capacity planning, collaboration with engineering teams, and accurate production records. Autonomy is offered with an early finish at 1pm every Friday and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in production/manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace sector experience desirable but not essential.
• Proven track record in customer-facing order management.
• Confidence liaising with engineering teams on technical requirements.
• Solid understanding of capacity planning in a machine shop.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer orders from receipt to delivery, acting as the main point of contact for order status and updates.
• Liaise closely with engineering teams to confirm feasibility, specifications and production timelines.
• Plan and monitor capacity across the machine shop to ensure schedules are met; identify and resolve scheduling conflicts before they affect delivery dates.
• Maintain accurate production records and provide regular reporting on order progress.
• Support the wider production team with day-to-day planning and coordination.
