Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a Production Engineer to own automation and process improvement on the shop floor. You will apply rigorous analysis to every process, with technical judgement trusted to get it right rather than just fast.

You will lead automation projects from concept to implementation, standardise and reduce waste, support new product introductions, and drive root-cause analysis to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid grounding in process improvement within engineering.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
• Confident on the shop floor and able to influence process direction.
• Proactive and independent problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement automation solutions across the production line.
• Lead automation and process improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
• Review existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for standardisation and waste reduction.
• Support new product introduction, ensuring processes are optimised ahead of full-scale production.
• Investigate and resolve production issues using root cause analysis techniques.
• Collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to embed a continuous improvement culture.
