Job summary

Mayflower Medical Group in Plymouth seeks an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team for 33 hours per week. You will deliver undifferentiated primary care with autonomy but access to clinical support from the practice team, focusing on high-quality, patient-centred care.

The role requires advanced clinical assessment, decision-making and prescribing skills, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and NICE-aligned guidelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in managing complete episodes of care including assessment, diagnosis, treatments and prescribing.
• Masters degree in Advanced Practice or equivalent post-graduate qualification and full accreditation/portfolio.
• Current UK professional registration with NMC or HCPC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced and complex clinical care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prescribing for acute, chronic and complex conditions.
• Work independently within scope of practice to manage complete clinical episodes using advanced diagnostic skills.
• Manage patient cases from initial assessment to conclusion with follow-ups and referrals.
• Utilise prescriptive authority following current guidelines to improve outcomes.
• Undertake home visiting when required, including triage of visits.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff and other practitioners.
• Engage in CPD and professional development to stay updated.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
• Support educational activities and professional development within the practice.
