Job summary

Smiths News in Dumfries is seeking an Instore Merchandiser for a flexible, part-time contract. You’ll manage POS placement, stock replenishment and displays across your territory with autonomous visit planning.

You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle; travel time and mileage are payable where eligible. The role offers an average of 5–20 hours per week with a pay rate of £14.24 per hour (holiday pay included).

Qualifications

• Previous Merchandising experience would be advantageous but not mandatory.
• Friendly confident personality with a can do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, high integrity and reliable.
• To be located within 15 miles of advertised area.
• Ability to work on own initiative and make the right decisions under pressure.
• Full commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Own your territory, taking care of point-of-sale placement to stock replenishment and auditing.
• Create and maintain visually impactful displays on shop floor.
• Build strong relationships with store colleagues and managers.
• Ensure stock is replenished and displays stay on-brand.
• Take charge of your own cost-effective journey plan and visit cadence.
