Job summary

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is recruiting an Emergency Nurse Care Practitioner for the Cheshunt Minor Injuries Unit. This permanent, full-time AfC Band 7 role offers a supportive team and a dynamic work environment focused on high-quality patient care.

The post requires a qualified Emergency Nurse/Care Practitioner with at least three years of experience in acute or urgent care and the ability to work within approved pathways. Interview date noted.

Qualifications

  • Provide advanced autonomous clinical practices to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat and/or refer patients per approved pathways and Trust guidelines.
  • Deliver health care to patients within the Minor Injuries Service with accountability.
  • Develop advanced nurse/care practitioner competencies through workplace-based assessments with supervision.
  • Interpret X-ray images and follow treatment pathways, including IRMER requirements.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in A&E, urgent care, walk-in or GP setting with interest/experience in minor injuries.

  • To provide advanced levels of autonomous clinical practices to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat and/or refer patients by acting within the parameters of approved pathways and Trust guidelines.
  • The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of health care to patients within the Minor Injuries Service.
  • To work towards fulfilling the expectations, core capabilities and competencies of an advanced nurse/ care practitioner. This will be achieved through workplace-based assessments in clinical practice, with a named clinical supervisor, and clinical supervision in own or similar service/speciality area
  • The post holder will be expected to interpretate x-ray images and follow agreed treatment pathways and complete three yearly IRMER (Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations).
  • The candidate should have at least three years’ experience working in an accident and emergency department, urgent treatment center, walk in center or general practice, with a keen interest and/or experience in the assessment and treatment of minor injuries.

  • To demonstrate nursing expertise and clinical knowledge, in accordance with the NMC and act as a resource for the Trust.

£32,073 - £39,043 In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 5% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,346 and a maximum payment of £2,270 per annum pro rata
