Job summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an Emergency Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Care Practitioner (ENP/ECP) to provide autonomous patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and discharge within the UTC. The post holder will make independent clinical decisions, prescribe where qualified, and develop management plans to ensure timely patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or paramedic with first level registration.
• Autonomous practitioner training at level 6/7 with experience for illness and injury.
• Substantial emergency/urgent care experience.
• Knowledge of local and national emergency care guidelines (DoH/NICE).
• Good decision making, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of minor injuries and illnesses.
• Request, interpret and act upon appropriate investigations within scope of practice; prescribe if qualified.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive patient documentation.
• Act as senior clinical decision maker within the Enhanced Streaming Team and mentor junior staff.
