Job summary

Orders of St. John Care Trust in Trowbridge is seeking an experienced Chef for a 37.5-hour week on a 12-month fixed term. You will design menus, cook with fresh seasonal ingredients and supervise a small kitchen team, while upholding high standards of nutrition, hygiene and safety for our residents.

You will lead menu development, work across our homes when requested, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of meal experiences. Weekend work and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen with large numbers.
• Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a small team.
• Ability to manage budgets and stock efficiently.
• Knowledge of menu planning for specialist diets is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations and ensure high safety, hygiene and nutrition standards.
• Manage a small catering team and organise workload and rosters.
• Develop nutritious, seasonal menus and maintain cost controls.
• Occasional catering for other day centres and community events; some weekend work.
