Job summary

Gloucester Charities Trust in Gloucester is recruiting a Chef to work in Magdalen House, a CQC-regulated residential home for older people. The role covers 36.75 hours per week on a two-week rota, with shifts 7.30am–6.30pm and alternate weekends.

You will prepare nutritious meals and support dietary requirements to enhance residents’ daily life. The ideal candidate has chef/cook experience, a Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 certification, and is organised, reliable and a strong team player.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a Chef, Cook, or similar catering role.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens and special dietary requirements.
• Organised, reliable and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present meals to a high standard.
• Support the Chef Manager in delivering a nutritious menu.
• Cater for dietary requirements and ensure safe, hygienic food handling.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising waste.
• Participate in events and provide a positive dining experience for residents.
