Job summary

Butler Rose, an established accountancy practice in Spalding, seeks an experienced Bookkeeper for an office-based role. You will manage your own workload across a portfolio of clients, handling bookkeeping tasks and VAT returns, with responsibility up to trial balance.

Proficiency in Xero and strong client communication are essential. The role offers autonomy, a supportive team, and opportunities for CPD within a friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping for multiple clients.
• Proven ability to prepare VAT returns.
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency with Xero or cloud accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Complete bank and control account reconciliations.
• Review client records and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare accounts to trial balance.
• Support interim and management information.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Work with Xero and other cloud software.
• Support wider accounts and taxation team.
• Manage own workload to meet deadlines.
