Job summary

Expleo is seeking an Automotive Technical Author/Writer for a six-month Inside IR35 contract on a client site in Surrey. You will review, rewrite and maintain technical specifications, engineering standards and controlled documents, ensuring accuracy, structure and alignment with quality requirements.

You will collaborate with engineering SMEs, manage version control and approval workflows, and maintain metadata and cross-references.

Qualifications

• Experience authoring and maintaining technical specifications.
• Clear, structured writing aligned with engineering standards.
• Ability to work with SMEs and validate content.

Responsibilities

• Review, remediate and maintain technical specifications, standards and docs for automotive Powertrain Systems.
• Plan and manage delivery of a portfolio of standards according to programme needs.
• Collaborate with SMEs to validate content and coordinate updates.
• Author, rewrite and restructure documentation for clarity and consistency.
• Ensure documents are AI-friendly and correctly formatted.
• Manage document approvals and version control in SharePoint or equivalent.
