Job summary

Expleo UK LTD is seeking a Vehicle Technician for on-site work with a major automotive manufacturer at Bedfordshire. The contract initially lasts three months and is offered Outside IR35.

Responsibilities include preparing vehicles and parts for testing, evaluating performance, assembling/disassembling for tests, and performing maintenance, fault finding and repairs while coordinating with engineers and documenting results.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
• Background in emissions or electrical testing is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and parts for test use.
• Evaluate vehicle performance against criteria.
• Assemble/disassemble components for static/dynamic tests.
• Maintain vehicles including safety checks, retrofits, fault finding and repairs.
• Liaise with engineers to conduct tests and document results.
• Set up instrumentation and write test reports.

Are you seeking a new opportunity as a Vehicle Technician?

Expleo is actively recruiting skilled Vehicle Technicians to join our team on-site with a prominent automotive manufacturer. In this contract position, you'll play a vital role in supporting vehicle research and development within Vehicle Testing. Based at our client's Test and Development facility in Bedfordshire, this contract will initially be for three months and is able to be offered Outside of IR35.

Vehicle Technician will be responsible for:

• Preparation of vehicles and parts for special uses including Test use
• Evaluation of vehicle performance according to set criteria
• Assembly and dis-assembly of parts, components, or vehicles for static and dynamic test activities
• Maintenance of vehicles to include safety check, retrofit, fault finding and repair
• Liaising with engineers to conduct tests to our clients standard and local operating procedures
• Instrumentation set-up and report writing

Essential skills of the Vehicle Technician:

• IMI Level 3 Qualification (or equivalent Level 3 certification in vehicle maintenance and repair)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Proven Experience in an Automotive Environment with hands-on expertise with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Ideally a background in Emissions Testing or Electrical Testing including Connected Car is preferred but not essential
