Job summary

Michael Page partners with a Lancashire precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an Automotive Quality Engineer in Burnley. The role focuses on maintaining quality across engineering and manufacturing while identifying issues and driving improvements to meet stringent standards.

The successful candidate will have experience with PFMEA, Control plans and PPAP, and will operate within ISO9001 and IATF16949 frameworks, supporting 8D and MRB processes alongside cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

PFMEA, control plan, PPAP knowledge and application required.
Experience with SPC, MSA and 8D problem solving.
ISO9001 and IATF16949 knowledge desirable or required.

Responsibilities

Act as the first point of quality contact for specific customer accounts.
Support the completion of 8D reports.
Support MRB reviews.
Chair weekly quality meetings to review non-conforming product and drive data-driven improvements.
Apply statistical tools such as process capability, MSA and SPC to identify risks and improvements.
Support NPI with PFMEA, control plan and other PPAP documents.
Manage internal calibration registers.
Participate in manufacturing and system audits.
Contribute to development of the business management system.
