Job summary

ASC Connections is seeking a Quality Engineer for an expanding automotive manufacturing site in Coventry. You will be the main liaison for customer quality matters, resolve complaints, and support new product introductions.

You will drive 8D investigations, coordinate containment, and help maintain ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards, while contributing to continuous improvement. The role offers around £42,000, 8% pension and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience dealing directly with customers, managing quality complaints and providing clear updates through to resolution.
• Experience leading 8D investigations, coordinating containment and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with customers and across Production and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for customer quality matters, building relationships and ensuring customer requirements are understood and met.
• Manage customer complaints, coordinate containment activities and lead 8D investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Keep customers updated on investigations and corrective actions, ensuring responses are accurate and timely.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to reduce scrap and rework, improve manufacturing quality and support staff in following quality processes.
• Support internal and customer audits, monitor quality performance and maintain QMS compliance.

A Quality Engineer opportunity has become available with an established automotive manufacturer investing in the expansion of an existing manufacturing site and new automated production equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with customers, resolve quality concerns, support new product introduction and help shape quality standards within a growing manufacturing environment.

Quality Engineer responsibilities include -

• Acting as a key contact for customer quality matters, building effective relationships and ensuring customer requirements are understood and met.


• Managing customer complaints, coordinating containment activities and leading 8D investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.


• Keeping customers updated on investigations and corrective actions, ensuring responses are accurate and completed within agreed timescales.


• Working with Production and Engineering to reduce scrap and rework, improve manufacturing quality and support staff in following quality processes.


• Supporting internal and customer audits, monitoring quality performance and maintaining Quality Management System compliance.

Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience -

• Previous experience working within a Quality Engineer position in a manufacturing environment.


• Experience dealing directly with customers, managing quality complaints and providing clear updates through to resolution.


• Experience leading 8D investigations, coordinating containment and implementing effective corrective actions.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and across Production and Engineering.
