Job summary

ADM Pressings Limited in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to manage projects, liaise with toolmakers, customers and other engineers to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective delivery.

You will use your mechanical engineering skills to create and improve manufacturing processes, develop timing plans, PFMEA reviews, SOPs and fixtures using CAD tools, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive engineering manufacturing methods and processes.
• HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related apprenticeship.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint for timing plans and SOPs.
• Desirable knowledge of SolidWorks, SigmaNest, AutoCAD for fixture design or drawing analysis.
• Desirable knowledge of Trutops software.
• Desirable knowledge of robotic programming.
• Full UK Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product processes and manage project timing.
• Create and manage timing plans and support required for assigned projects.
• Support the creation of process flows and PFMEA’s and review at stages through the NPI process.
• Set up SOPs and manage process documentation (SOP updates).
• Create & modify SAP bill of materials.
• Support 8D investigations.
• Carry out process feasibility reviews with customers to assist commercial.
• Deliver continuous improvement projects across site.
• Set and run tool trials at ADM and support trials at tooling partners.
• Set and run assembly trials.
• Liaise with toolmakers and customers and report back to ADM.
• Design and oversee the manufacture of jigs and fixtures using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SigmaNest).
• Manufacture prototype parts.
• Create roller hemming programmes and laser programmes (5 axis and 2 axis).
• Support customer concession requests and engineering change control.
