Job summary

KineticPlc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Contract) in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role focuses on ownership of production engineering support, driving manufacturing methods, and managing capital investments to keep pre-production schedules on track.

You will program machine tools using Siemens NX and CREO, develop post-processors, manage CapEx/OpEx budgets, and create robust SOPs and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineer.
• Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX and CREO for CAD/CAM.
• CapEx project management from financial justification to procurement.
• Knowledge of machining, finishing, and component processing.
• Experience creating robust SOPs and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and apply robust manufacturing methods, tooling, and process technologies (machining, finishing, and processing components).
• Create machine tool part programs using Siemens NX and CREO; develop and maintain post-processors and 3D models.
• Define financial justifications, manage CapEx/OpEx budgets, procure hardware, and track performance against business cases.
• Create, implement, and maintain Quality Acceptance Standards, Method Statements, Tooling SOPs, and Operational SOPs.
• Support pre-production schedules, create manufacturing information, and specify tooling.
• 37 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm, Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm.
• Initial training 3-6 months with potential shift work and overtime later.
• Temporary contract with strong possibility of permanent role for the right candidate.

Hours: Day Shift (Monday - Friday 37 hours)

Working standard day shifts, you will take full ownership of production engineering support, driving manufacturing methods, project managing capital investments, and keeping pre-production schedules running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Engineering & Process Design: Define and apply robust manufacturing methods, tooling, and process technologies (machining, finishing, and processing components).
• CAM Programming & Digital Engineering: Create machine tool part programs using Siemens NX and CREO. Develop and maintain machine tool post-processors and 3D models for manufacturing/measurement.
• Capital & Revenue Expenditure: Define financial justifications, manage CapEx/OpEx budgets, procure required hardware, and track performance improvements against original business cases.
• Quality & SOPs: Create, implement, and maintain Quality Acceptance Standards, Method Statements, Tooling SOPs, and Operational Standard Procedures (OSPs).
• Pre-Production & Tooling: Support pre-production schedules, create manufacturing information, and specify, procure, and maintain specialized tooling.
