Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking an experienced Logistics Development Coach to lead the learner journey from induction to endpoint assessment, delivering classroom and on-site coaching within the logistics sector.

The role requires strong communication, formal assessor capability and a passion for developing others, with travel across the South East and beyond as needed.

Qualifications

• LGV C and C+E licences are required.
• Minimum of five years of LGV driving experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Maths and English at Functional Skills Level 1 or above.
• Knowledge of Smart Assessor.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy.
• Assessor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for learners, mentors and employers throughout the learning programme.
• Deliver high-quality classroom teaching and learning for apprenticeship and commercial courses.
• Provide quality coaching, support and information, advice and guidance to meet employer and learner needs.
• Assist mentors to deliver training to apprentices.
• Ensure workplace supervisors/mentors understand the assessment and off-the-job processes and raise issues.
• Identify barriers to learning and plan to overcome them.
• Conduct learner milestone reviews to track progress against targets.
• Analyse data to determine performance against targets and attendance.
• Capture the impact of training in the learner's off-the-job log.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm

Location

This role will cover the South East of England and will involve frequent travel.

About the role

As a Logistics Development Coach, you will be responsible for the management of the learner's journey from induction to end-point assessment, making sure that all training is completed to a high level and in line with individual learning plans. This will include classroom and one-to-one coaching in the apprentice's workplace.

This customer-facing role will be a great fit for someone with a passion for developing others. If you have outstanding communication and administrative skills with a desire to share your knowledge and experience within the logistics sector, this is the role for you.

Day-to-day duties

• To act as the main point of contact for learners, mentors and employers throughout the programme of learning.
• To deliver high-quality classroom teaching and learning at GTG Wolverhampton for both apprenticeship and commercial courses.
• To deliver quality coaching, support and IAG to meet employer and learner needs. This includes coaching mentors to deliver appropriate training to the apprentice.
• To ensure relevant workplace supervisors and mentors are familiar with the assessment / monitoring / off-the-job process and elevate issues where relevant.
• Establish and review barriers to learning and appropriately plan to overcome these, ensuring relevant delivery is adapted to meet learner needs.
• To conduct highly effective learner milestone reviews which accurately captures the progress of learners against the skills, knowledge and behaviours relevant to the standard.
• To access and analyse data available to determine performance against independent learning targets, online learning modules, attendance data etc.
• Ensure the impact of all training received is captured in the learners' off-the-job log.

Essential skills and experience

• LGV category C and C+E licences
• Minimum of five years' LGV driving experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Maths and English at equivalent of Functional Skills Level 1 or above
• Knowledge of Smart Assessor
