Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Software Engineer in Test within Quality Engineering to design tests, build tooling, and improve test diagnostics across the ToolChain. Qualifications

• BSc in a relevant technical or scientific field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals for testing, tooling, automation, or infrastructure.
• Understanding of software testing techniques gained through study, projects, internships, or experience.
• Interest in Quality Engineering including testing, automation, and diagnostics.
• Ability to write and maintain unit and system tests; testing frameworks a plus for senior candidates.
• Proficiency in Python scripting to automate tests, workflows, analysis, diagnostics, or reporting.
• Ability to build practical tools or automation from small scripts to internal tooling.
• Analytical approach to problem-solving and pattern recognition.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical information within a team.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and grow in quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement tests, tooling, and test systems for new ToolChain features.
• Design and develop internal tools to improve test execution, diagnostics, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
• Contribute to testing tools and frameworks to validate the ToolChain and reveal quality risks.
• Maintain and improve Jenkins CI test jobs for reliable feedback and performance.
• Write Python-based automation and scripts to support testing, analysis, and diagnostics.
• Analyse automated test results to identify failures and patterns for improvement.
• Investigate issues across test, build, tooling, and execution environments to isolate causes.
• Support improvements to testability and diagnostics to help teams act on quality signals.
• Participate in code and documentation reviews to improve coverage, quality, and workflows.
• Learn and apply Quality Engineering practices including risk-based thinking and automation design.
