Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Quality Engineering professional to join the team responsible for testing, tooling and infrastructure used to build PlayStation software toolchains. You will design tests, develop internal tools and contribute to testing frameworks from the start of feature development.

The role emphasizes writing Python-based automation, diagnosing failures, and collaborating across teams to improve testability and quality throughout the development process.

Qualifications

• BSc in a technical/scientific field such as Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals for testing, tooling, automation, or infrastructure.
• Understanding of software testing techniques gained academically, personally, or professionally.
• Interest in Quality Engineering and how testing, automation, tooling and diagnostics improve software.
• Ability to write and maintain unit and system tests; experience with testing frameworks is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python to automate test cases, workflows, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to design tests, tooling, and test systems for ToolChain features.
• Design and develop internal tools to improve test execution, diagnostics, and reporting.
• Contribute to testing tools and frameworks to validate ToolChain quality.
• Maintain and improve test jobs on Jenkins CI for reliable execution and feedback.
• Write Python-based automation scripts to support testing, diagnostics, and workflows.
• Analyse automated test results to identify failures and improvement opportunities.
• Investigate issues across test, build, tooling and execution environments to isolate causes.
• Support improvements to testability and diagnostics for better failure understanding.
• Participate in code and documentation reviews to improve test coverage and quality.
• Learn and apply Quality Engineering practices and continuous improvement.
