Test Automation Engineer

Location:

Leeds, hybrid - You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week, with travel to other sites as necessary.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Embedded within scrum teams, creating automated tests to support product and project development, influencing testable code design, and integrating tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines.
2. Analyzing test requirements, designing reusable test scripts, and specifying environments, data, and tools.
3. Overcoming development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.
4. Reviewing test artifacts and modifying test suites as needed.
5. Defining and creating test cases from non-functional specifications.
6. Designing and executing functional, performance, and security tests.
7. Analyzing automation requirements, designing and implementing technical solutions, and reviewing unit and integration tests performed by engineers.
8. Collaborating with engineers to clarify testing approaches and requirements.
9. Executing exploratory testing where scripted testing is inadequate.

Your skills and experiences:

• Knowledge of API Testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with automated testing tools (preferably Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience testing UI and large data sets.
• Proficiency in Java.

Other desirable skills:

• Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, Postgres.
• Familiarity with BDD and TDD tools.
• Awareness of accessibility standards.
• Willingness to upskill in areas like Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, Postgres.
