Job Title: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Leeds, hybrid – You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week. Travel to other sites may also be necessary.

What you’ll be doing

The role is embedded within a Scrum team, creating automated tests to support product and project development, working alongside developers and platform engineers to influence design and integrate tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines. You will have the opportunity to influence testing approaches and tools.

• Analyze test requirements, design reusable test scripts, and specify environment, data, and tool needs.
• Overcome development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.
• Review peer-produced test artifacts.
• Review test results and update test suites accordingly.
• Define and create test cases from non-functional specifications.
• Design and execute functional, performance, and security test scripts.
• Analyze requirements for test automation, design technical solutions, and review scope and execution of unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with engineers to clarify testing of their work.
• Perform exploratory testing when scripted testing is inadequate.

Your skills and experiences

• Knowledge of API Testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with automated test tools such as Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience testing UI and large data sets.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.

Other desirable skills

• Kubernetes, Kafka, BDD/TDD tools, accessibility standards, AWS, Postgres.
