Job Title: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Leeds, hybrid - You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week; travel to other sites will also be necessary.

What you’ll be doing

The role will be embedded within one of our scrum teams, where you'll be creating Automated Tests to support the ongoing development of products and projects. You'll work alongside developers to influence the design of testable code and platform engineers to integrate your tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines. The tools, technologies, and approaches will be diverse, giving you a chance to influence the direction of automated testing.

1. Analyzing test requirements, designing and producing reusable test scripts, and specifying requirements for environments, data, and test tools.
2. Overcoming development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.
3. Reviewing test artifacts produced by peers.
4. Reviewing test results and modifying the test suite as necessary.
5. Defining and creating test cases from the analysis of non-functional specifications.
6. Designing and executing functional, performance, and security test scripts.
7. Analyzing requirements for test automation, designing and implementing technical solutions, and reviewing the scope and execution of Unit Tests and Integration Tests performed by Software Engineers.
8. Collaborating with Engineers to describe testing methods for their work to ensure clarity and understanding.
9. Executing Session-based (Exploratory) Testing where scripted testing is inadequate or needs augmentation.

Your skills and experiences

• Knowledge of API Testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with at least one automated test tool (preferably Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber).
• Experience testing both UI and large data sets.

Other Desirable Skills (not mandatory, but training available)

• Kafka
• Familiarity with BDD and TDD tools
• Awareness of accessibility standards
• AWS
