Job Title: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Leeds, hybrid – You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week; travel to other sites may also be necessary.

What you’ll be doing

The role will be embedded within one of our scrum teams, where you'll create automated tests to support ongoing product and project development. You'll work alongside developers to influence testable code design and platform engineers to integrate tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines. The tools, technologies, and approaches are diverse, giving you a chance to influence automated testing strategies.

• Analyze test requirements, design, and produce reusable test scripts, and specify environment, data, and test tool requirements.
• Overcome development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.
• Review test artifacts produced by peers.
• Review test results and modify the test suite as necessary.
• Define and create test cases based on non-functional specifications.
• Design and execute functional, performance, and security test scripts.
• Analyze requirements for test automation, design and implement technical solutions, and review the scope and execution of Unit Tests and Integration Tests performed by Software Engineers.
• Work closely with engineers to describe how their work will be tested, providing insight into testing interpretations.
• Execute exploratory testing sessions where scripted testing is inadequate or needs augmentation.

Your skills and experiences

• Knowledge of API Testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with at least one automated test tool (preferably Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber).
• Familiarity with REST Assured.
• Experience testing UI and large data sets.
• Java programming experience.

Other desirable skills (not mandatory)

• Kubernetes
