Job Title: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Leeds, hybrid

You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week, with travel to other sites as necessary. We offer flexible working arrangements; please discuss options with your recruiter.

What you’ll be doing

The role is embedded within a scrum team, creating automated tests to support product and project development. You will collaborate with developers to influence testable code design and platform engineers to integrate tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines. You will have the opportunity to influence testing strategies and choose from a variety of tools and approaches.

1. Analyze test requirements, design reusable test scripts, and specify environment, data, and tool needs.
2. Overcome development obstacles to deliver quality testing on schedule.
3. Review test artifacts produced by peers.
4. Review test results and modify test suites as needed.
5. Define and create test cases based on non-functional specifications.
6. Design and execute functional, performance, and security tests.
7. Analyze automation requirements, design and implement solutions, and review scope and execution of unit and integration tests.
8. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure their work is properly tested and understood.
9. Perform exploratory testing sessions where scripted testing is inadequate.

Your skills and experiences

• Knowledge of API Testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with automated testing tools (preferably Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber).
• Proficiency in Java and understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience testing UI and large data sets.

Other desirable skills (training available)

• Kubernetes, Kafka, BDD/TDD tools, accessibility standards, AWS, Postgres.
