Job summary

CBSbutler Ltd. is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a modernisation programme in Telford, working within a Scrum team to drive quality across the full software lifecycle.

This hands-on role focuses on test automation, CI/CD, and shift-left quality, designing automated tests, improving coverage, and coaching engineers on best practices.

You\'ll collaborate across the product stack, support non-functional testing, and contribute to unit, integration, and acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quality Engineer, Test Engineer or automation role.
• Strong testing and automation experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git.
• Proficient in Java and Spring.
• Knowledge of TDD/BDD.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test solutions and frameworks.
• Embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop automated testing approaches with TDD/BDD.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
• Analyse requirements and architectures for testing strategies.
• Coach and upskill engineering teams on quality practices.
• Manage test data and collateral.
• Contribute to unit, system, and integration testing.
• Support non-functional testing (performance, accessibility, security).
• Communicate testing risks and progress to stakeholders.
