Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Ellesmere Port is seeking a hands-on Maintenance and Automation Engineer to support automated warehousing operations in our distribution centre. You will respond to breakdowns, carry out routine maintenance, and work with third-party contractors to keep systems running smoothly.

The role is full-time, on-site, 39 hours per week (Mon-Fri). You will install equipment, maintain records, and contribute to PPMS and Health & Safety compliance, with PLC-based automation experience

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance of automation systems (PLC-based).
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
• Demonstrates a proactive, can-do attitude in a fast-moving warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and issues reported by colleagues.
• Carry out routine and planned maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records on facilities management system.
• Collaborate with third-party contractors on projects and installations.
• Assist with equipment installations, project work and general planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
