Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Multi-Skilled Automation Maintenance Engineer for a highly automated site in Chelmsford, Essex. The role involves planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment, diagnosing faults and supporting continuous improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have NVQ3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, hands-on experience with automated machinery, and a valid UK driving licence.

A leading automated distribution operation is looking for a skilled Multi-Skilled Automation Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at a highly automated site in Chelmsford.

This is a great opportunity to work with state-of-the-art automation equipment in a fast-paced environment, supporting critical operations and continuous improvement projects.

The Role

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / ONC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working on automated machinery or production equipment
• PLC fault-finding experience preferred
• Strong understanding of health & safety
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Full UK driving licence

Shift Pattern

This role operates across early, late and night shifts on a rotating basis, including occasional weekend cover and overtime.
