Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is representing an established food manufacturer seeking an Automation Engineer in Aberystwyth. You will own fault-finding and system reliability across SCADA and PLC-controlled machinery in a high-volume environment.

The role emphasizes ownership of maintenance rather than new system development, with a Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift and a focus on site reliability. A strong mentoring environment and clear development path are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA, PLC-controlled machinery or industrial automation.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills in live production.
• Willingness to work directly on machinery and carry out PMs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot site SCADA and automation systems.
• Respond to controls failures and production issues.
• Identify root causes and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support PLC, drives, sensors and control-system fault-finding.
• Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical support.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance.
