Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is representing an established food manufacturer in Aberystwyth, seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrically biased) to join a busy manufacturing site. The role is days-based with a 4-on/4-off pattern, 10:00am–10:00pm, offering a clear path for progression and ongoing training.

You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on processing machinery, boilers, and utilities, recording activity in the CMMS and working alongside another engineer.

Qualifications

• Electrical training or qualifications with practical mechanical maintenance capability.
• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar with fault-finding skills.
• Experience completing both planned and reactive maintenance in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of boilers, processing equipment or pasteurisation systems a bonus.
• Ability to work safely around production machinery.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive engineering support to keep high-volume production equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance across production and site services equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out effective repairs to minimise disruption.
• Work with equipment including processing machinery, pasteurisation systems, boilers, and associated utilities.
• Support basic plumbing, mechanical strip-downs and general engineering activities when required.
• Record and manage maintenance activity through a computerised maintenance management system.
• Make the most of planned production downtime by completing maintenance, repairs, and equipment improvements.
• Work closely with another engineer on shift and communicate effectively with production and wider site teams.
• Follow robust health, safety, hygiene, and food manufacturing procedures always.
