Job summary

VERTECH GROUP (UK) LTD is seeking an Automation SCADA Engineer in Newport, South Wales. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from requirements and design to PLC/SCADA development, testing and commissioning, with opportunities across the UK and internationally.

You should bring 3+ years PLC/SCADA programming experience, dairy automation expertise, and familiarity with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, ABB 800xA, Schneider/Modicon, Mitsubishi, Wonderware and WinCC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years PLC/SCADA programming experience.
• Dairy industry automation experience is essential.
• Experience with multiple PLC/SCADA brands and testing.
• Strong customer communication skills during project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end automation projects from design through commissioning.
• Develop PLC/SCADA software and perform testing on projects.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams across UK and internationally.
• Assist with system handover and project documentation.

Automation SCADA Engineer

Location: Newport, South Wales

Salary: £40k-£70k + Bonus + Pension

Automation SCADA Engineer required by a successful engineering company delivering complex process automation projects across the UK and internationally!

This is a varied, hands-on role working across the full project lifecycle, from requirements and system design through PLC/SCADA development, testing and commissioning to final handover. You'll work on technically interesting automation projects rather than being tied to the maintenance of a single site.

Essential:

• 3+ years PLC/SCADA programming experience
• Dairy industry automation experience
• Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB 800xA, Schneider/Modicon, Mitsubishi, Wonderware and/or WinCC
• Experience of testing and commissioning automation systems
• Strong customer communication skills

Nice to have:

• ISA S88 and/or S95
• FDS writing
• MES experience
• Experience delivering projects from design through to commissioning
