Job summary

Tata Steel UK Limited in Port Talbot is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join the Hot Rolled Products team. You will provide engineering support to optimise production and act as first point of contact to ensure continued output of the hot mill.

The role requires PLC fault diagnosis, instrumentation and control systems knowledge, and a solid understanding of DC/AC drives and motors. Applicants should hold an NVQ Level 3 Electrical and be prepared to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PLC fault diagnosis and plant end devices.
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems.
• Good understanding of electrical control systems of DC & AC drives and motors.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults on PLC programs and plant end devices.
• Maintain instrumentation and control systems.
• Understand and diagnose electrical systems of DC/AC drives and motors.
• Issue permits on electrical systems when competent.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.
• Support team to improve plant performance.
• Be flexible to undertake overtime for breakdowns and maintenance.
