Job summary
TATA Steel Port Talbot is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for Process Control and Automation in Port Talbot, UK. The role focuses on diagnosing faults, maintaining PLC systems, and optimising production in the hot mill.
The position requires an NVQ Level 3 Electrical apprenticeship and strong PLC knowledge, with overtime flexibility and a start ASAP subject to medicals and tests.
Qualifications
- Completed an approved Apprenticeship with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 Electrical (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a relevant position with a willingness to undertake further development and training.
- Strong knowledge of fault finding and electrical systems/perimeter.
- Good understanding of DC/AC drives and motors.
Responsibilities
- Provide a complete range of Engineering activities to optimise production within the Primary Operations area.
- Act as first contact to ensure continued output of the Hot Mill.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on plant end devices, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Issue permits on electrical systems once authorised.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and duties.
- React to engineering, quality and safety issues promptly.
- Contribute to activities aimed at improving plant performance.
