Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking a Controls Design Engineer near Bournemouth to design electrical control systems for automated machinery. You will craft wiring schematics with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, select PLCs, HMIs, drives and sensors, and develop PLC/HMI software.

You’ll support installation, commissioning, and testing to ensure CE/UKCA compliance. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in controls design, experience with wiring diagrams, and an HNC in electrical engineering or

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum as controls design engineer.
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks training provided.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create wiring diagrams and schematics using CAD tools.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Support build, installation and commissioning activities.
• Test and troubleshoot control systems on site.
