Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Controls Design Engineer near Bournemouth to design electrical control systems for automated machinery and develop PLC/HMI software. You’ll work with project, software and manufacturing teams on concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with CE/UKCA standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience minimum as controls design engineer.
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• SolidWorks training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Ensure CE/UKCA compliance and industry standards.
• Support build, installation and commissioning activities.
• Test, fault-find and troubleshoot control systems.
