Job summary

TipTopJob in Bournemouth is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join a growing engineering business. You will design electrical control systems for automated machinery, develop PLC and HMI software, and ensure CE/UKCA compliance across projects.

The role involves creating wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, selecting PLCs and safety equipment, supporting install and commissioning, and collaborating with project, software and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience as controls design engineer.
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.

Are you a Controls Design Engineer looking to join a growing and innovative engineering business? The Role

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA and relevant industry standards.
• Support build, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Test, fault:find, and troubleshoot control systems.

What We Are Looking For

• 3 years experience min as controls design engineer
• Softwares : open but they use solidworks and will train on this.
• Experienced creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• HNC in electrical engineering or similar.
