Job summary

Hunter Selection is partnering with a growing engineering business near Bournemouth to recruit a Controls Design Engineer. You will design control systems for bespoke automation and oversee from concept through commissioning, collaborating with project, software, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a controls design engineer.
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks; training will be provided.
• HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA and relevant industry standards.
• Support build, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Test, fault-find, and troubleshoot control systems.

Are you a Controls Design Engineer looking to join a growing and innovative engineering business? You’ll play a key role in delivering control system designs from concept through to commissioning, working with the latest automation technologies and collaborating closely with project, software, and manufacturing teams. The Role:

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.

What we are looking for:

• 3 years experience min as controls design engineer
• Softwares - open but they use solidworks and will train on this.
• Experienced creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
