Job summary

Halfords is offering an Autocare Technician (Level 2) apprenticeship across its service network. You will learn to diagnose faults, service vehicles, and perform inspections across traditional, hybrid and electric engines within a supported training pathway.

The programme combines virtual learning with face-to-face training at a dedicated centre, with travel and accommodation costs covered. Successful apprentices gain formal qualifications and brand certifications.

Qualifications

• On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will receive the Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Autocare Technician.
• Level 2 qualification for safe isolation of electric and hybrid vehicles will be earned.
• Brand specific certifications will be awarded.
• Progression towards Level 3 apprenticeship standard in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is available.

Responsibilities

• Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
• Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working.
• Following checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined.
• Carrying out bumper to bumper overview, service, and inspection.
• Maintenance of electronic systems including on-board entertainment systems.
• Completion of legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centres records
• Maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment.
