Job summary

Halfords in Harrow is offering an Autocare Technician/Mechanic apprenticeship. You’ll learn maintenance and repair from routine servicing to complex diagnostics while working on a wide range of vehicles, from traditional engines to hybrids and electronic systems.

As an apprentice you’ll use diagnostic equipment, follow checklists, perform full vehicle overviews, keep accurate paperwork, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while developing skills for a long-term career in automotive engineering.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate logic and problem solving with attention to detail.
• Some experience in motor industry or formal Level 1 training.
• Passionate about automotive industry and brand.

Responsibilities

• Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
• Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working
• Following checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined
• Carrying out bumper to bumper overview, service, and inspection
• Maintenance of electronic systems including on-board entertainment systems
• Completion of legible and accurate paperwork for the customers and centres records
• Maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment
