Job summary

Halfords Hartlepool offers an Autocare Technician Apprenticeship combining hands-on garage training with theory. You will learn diagnostics, servicing, and repair across traditional, hybrid and electric vehicles, under the guidance of a dedicated mentor.

You'll complete the Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Autocare Technician, gain brand-specific certifications, and progress toward Level 3. After successful completion, a permanent role awaits in the Halfords network.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship-based training in Autocare Technician role.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
• Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working.
• Following checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined.
• Carrying out bumper to bumper overview, service, and inspection.
• Maintenance of electronic systems including on-board entertainment systems.
• Completion of legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centre records.
• Maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment.
• Work with traditional, hybrid and electric engines.
